We at I Believe In You are incredibly proud to have supported the Leichtathletik-Vereinigung Winterthur (LVW) with this year’s Fundraising Challenge. What LVW has achieved is not just a sporting milestone, but a crowdfunding milestone too. The project proved what tremendous power lies in a sports-loving community when it is mobilised online!
Almost CHF 100,000, a record for the future
Using our platform, LV Winterthur’s traditional “12-minute run” was turned into a Fundraising Challenge that drew attention across Switzerland. The result is simply phenomenal.
- Amount raised CHF 94,262.15
- Number of supporters 1,148 people
These numbers speak for themselves. They show how important this financial foundation is for clubs like LVW, which would face annual deficits without initiatives like this. We are delighted that our expertise and reach helped not only to overcome this challenge, but to achieve a record surplus that can now be invested in a targeted way.
The perfect partnership, tradition meets digital reach
In his accompanying video statement, LV Winterthur president Roger Rüegg highlighted how essential the collaboration with I Believe In You was to this success. Combining a well-established, emotional fundraising run with simple digital handling on our platform made it possible to reach supporters beyond the club and make fundraising more efficient than ever.
“With I Believe In You, LV Winterthur has achieved a historically successful fundraising run.” – Roger Rüegg, President of LV Winterthur
We are happy that our tools helped ease the load on the club’s volunteers and allowed the full focus to be on the sporting event itself.
Trust invested, what the community is running for
The trust that the 1,148 supporters placed in this project now allows LVW to make important investments in the future.
- Youth development. Securing the “school of life” for 150 children and young people.
- Infrastructure. Targeted support for the Winterthur Sprintkanal (sprint track) for future top performances.
- Strengthening volunteering. Recognising and expanding the more than 2,500 volunteer hours put in every year.
Congratulations to everyone at LV Winterthur on this impressive success! This project is a shining example of what the sports community can achieve when it sticks together.
