Sailing Toward Olympic Dreams: From Ukraine to Paris 2024

Hello, everyone!

My name is Alina, I'm 16 and I'm a professional sailing athlete. I am on my way to fulfill my dream to participate in the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris. And now a brief about me...

 

I was born and lived in Ukraine until February 2022, but when war came to my country, I had to leave. At the invitation of Swiss sailing club DRCS, me and my family came to Switzerland a year and a half ago. At the moment I am sailing on ILCA 6 boat. My best performances include 2 times World Champion (U16 ILCA 4 and U17 ILCA 6), 2nd and 3rd place at the 2022 & 2023 ILCA 4 World Championships and many other international regattas.

 

This summer I took part in my first Seniors World Championship among women ILCA 6. I was the youngest competitor at the championships, but despite that I competed on equal terms and made it to the gold fleet, and from here I start my journey to the 2024 Olympics.

 

But I can't do it alone -  Your support will help me cover the costs of the necessary qualifying events such as: the ILCA 6 Women's World Championships in Argentina, Mar del Plata, the European Championships in Greece and other important events, as well as training.
